PURPOSE:To eliminate the variance of control in a reading range, by carrying out the control of the coordinate reading range on the basis of the sheet original point on an original picture sticking sheet. CONSTITUTION:An original picture 9 is stuck on a tablet plate 44 forming a writing point coordinate input device provided at a command input part A. When a corner P9'E and P9'S of a reading range 9' of the picture 9 are indicated by an input pen 45, the coordinate value obtained on the basis on the sheet original point POC is given to a buffer 40 via a data buffer 50. A sheet 42 stuck with the picture 9 is mounted to a cylinder 10 at a picture scanning part B. The distances l'xo and l'yo in the directions X and Y between the scanner original point P0 and the point POC are fed to a main scan compensating arithmetic circuit 24b and a secondary scan reading arithmetic circuit 25b. These circuits 24b and 25b produce the main and secondary scan gate pulses 30 and 33 via the main an secondary scan reading control circuits 24 and 25 respectively.
