Appts. for pasteurizing fluids, particularly milk, comprises pumps, heat exchangers, heaters and coolers. The invention describes two arrangements for avoiding an unwanted pressure drop on the pasteurized side which occurs when a switching valve behind the heater responds to an automatic control. One arrangement consists of a second pump the pressure side of which is connected to the section of an outlet pipe from the switching valve after it leaves the cooler. USE/ADVANTAGE - The arrangement is used is pasteurizing of fluid, particularly milk and avoids the pressure drop which occurs in the first outlet pipe when a switching valve is operated.
