PURPOSE:To properly execute a sensitivity correction even in an azimuth direction and to obtain a tomographic image with satisfactory picture quality by providing a variable element to be set to the diagnostic azimuth direction of a subject and to be variably adjusted so as to offset the change of an echo signal reflected from the subjected at an angle made with an ultrasonic transmitting direction and a blood vessel wall in the subject. CONSTITUTION:A variable value setter 11 to be set to a diagnostic azimuth direction B of the subject and to be as the variable element to be variably adjusted so as to offset the change of the echo signal reflected from the subject at the angle made with an ultrasonic transmitting direction A and blood vessel wall, for example, P1, P2 and P3, and a sensitivity corrector 10 equipped with a switch 12 to successively switchingly select respective signals from respective resistances R1-Rn are provided.
