It includes a head 1 for electropolishing which works submerged, covering a large surface of the wall to be treated, in whose chamber 2 for liquids an electropolishing electrode 3 moves vertically. There are three tanks 8, 9 and 10, the tank 8 being the one which contains recirculation pool water, the tank 9 containing the electrolyte and the tank 10 the water which arrives from the previous washing of the head, which tanks are connected with said chamber 2. The head adheres to the surface to be decontaminated by means of suction cups and the chamber 2 is closed with said wall in a leaktight manner by means of three perimeter sealing gaskets 43 between which it is possible to form a vacuum. <IMAGE>
