Method of preparing a novel foodstuff based on mushroom or edible seaweed. After preparing a paste made up, inter alia, of starch, potato, mushroom or edible seaweed, milk, cooking juices and additives. Once cooked and dried, this preparation is cut into strips. In order to use this product, add the strips to very hot oil, removing them as soon as they have swelled, without allowing them to cook, which only take a few seconds.
