<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a line defect and a point defect from occurring by making at least the width of the (i) type semiconductor layer of a source electrode part and a drain electrode part larger than that of a scanning signal line. CONSTITUTION:The (i) type semiconductor layer AS 1 and an insulating film GI are provided all over the surface of a liquid crystal display part and an electrode PL 11 which constitutes a retension volume element Cadd with a transparent picture element electrode ITO 1 is provided to protrude from an adjacent scanning signal line GL. Since the (i) type semiconductor layer AS 1 and the insulating film GI are provided all over the surface of the liquid crystal display part, surface leakage current is not caused from the edges of the scanning signal line GL and the gate electrode GT. The scanning signal line GL, the gate electrode GT, a source electrode SD 1 and the drain electrode SD 2 do not short-circuit, so that the line defect and the point defect are prevented from occurring. Thus, a liquid crystal display device where the line defect and the point defect are prevented from occurring is obtained.</p> |
