发明名称 THERMAL TRANSFER INK SHEET AND THERMAL TRANSFER RECORDING METHOD USING SAME SHEET
摘要 PURPOSE:To conduct a glossy thermal transfer recording and an unglossy thermal transfer recording using the same thermal transfer ink sheet by a method wherein the melting point of a hot melt gloss control layer is determined higher than that of a hot melt ink layer, and an unglossy treatment is applied on an interface between the hot melt gloss control layer and the hot melt ink layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer ink sheet 10 consists of a sheet substrate 12, a hot melt gloss control layer 14, and a hot melt ink layer 16. An unglossy treatment is applied on the outer surface of the hot melt gloss control layer 14. The melting point of the hot melt ink layer 16 is determined lower than that of the hot melt gloss control layer 14. In the thermal transfer recording wherein a recording energy for hot melting the hot melt ink layer 16 is applied to the thermal transfer ink sheet 10 from a thermal printing body and, thereby, the hot melt ink layer 16 is released from the hot melt gloss control layer 14, the roughened surface of a thermal transfer recorded image makes the thermal transfer recorded image unglossy. On the other hand, in the thermal transfer recording wherein a recording energy for hot melting both the hot melt gloss control layer 14 and the hot melt ink layer 16 is applied from the thermal printing body, the smoothed surface of the thermal transfer recorded image makes the thermal transfer recorded image glossy.
