<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of the generation of flickering by detecting reactive power from a power supply line and controlling the firing angle of a DC converter so that the detected reactive power reaches predetermined reactive power. CONSTITUTION:A reactive power control means 24 outputs a control signal according to the deviation between the set reactive power obtained by a set reactive power arithmetic means 23 and the reactive power measured by a reactive power detector 21 so that the detected reactive power reaches the set reactive power. The control signal sent from the reactive power control means 24 is received to control the firing timing of the thyristor which constitutes the DC converter 2, i.e. firing angle by a firing angle control means 25. Consequently, even if an arc voltage varies, the fluctuation range of the reactive power is eliminated to reduce the generation quantity of the flickering.</p> |
