<p>PURPOSE: To regenerate and recycle a contaminated catalyst soln. by treating the catalyst soln. with water, separating precipitate, extracting the dissolution residue with alkanols, adding acetic acid or the like to the recovered promoter and precipitate and returning the soln. to the process. CONSTITUTION: When the catalyst soln. is treated with the water, a noble metal carbonyl complex salt and, in some cases, non-distillable org. compd. precipitate and on the other hand, the org. promoter and metallic corrosion product dissolve and remain. After the precipitate is separated, the org. promoter is extracted from an aq. phase by 4-6C alkanols. The promoter is recovered by evaporating the extractant. The promoter is thereafter put together with the precipitated noble metal carbonyl complex salt and, in some cases, the nondistillable org. compd. The acetic acid a/or acetic anhydride is added thereto and the soln. is returned as the catalyst soln. to the process. The aq. phase is discarded together with the metal corrosion product.</p> |
