The sun lounger consists of a tubular metal frame with a fabric cover sewn on so as to be held taught when the frame is open. Setting up and flat fold operation is similar to existing designs in that legs (1, 2) hinge (9) and fold towards each other. The foot rest section (5) and back rest section (3) lie against the seat section (4) when folded and are locked open in any desirable position by ratchets and sprung pawls (7). Telescoping arm rest supports are locked in place by a sprung pin passing through the tubes. In the lie flat position, the arm rests lie flush with the frame.
