The invention relates to a method for measuring the heartbeat and/or pulse and to a receiver module for implementation of this method, in which method a person's heartbeat or pulse signal is measured at a suitable point on the body and transmitted by cordless means with the aid of telemetric data transmission which makes use of a magnetic near field from an individual transmitter device to a receiver device. For the invention it is essential that a pulse meter known as such 2,7 and operating by wired transmission of a sensor signal be converted so as to function as a telemetric receiver module by connection of a telemetric beat receiver module 1,8 to a pulse meter 2,7 in order to replace a sensor operating by the wired transmission of a signal. <IMAGE>
