A method of improving the softness, or antistatic properties of a textile without yellowing comprising treating said textile with a composition comprising a) about 0.05 to about 5 weight percent of a cationic silicone of the structure M Dx D'y M where M is (CH3)3 SiO1/2: D is OSi(CH3)2; D' is CH3SiO(CH2)3OCH2CH(OH)CH2N+(CH3)3Cl-; x=20-200; y=3-60; and b) about 0 to 2 % of an electrolyte.
