<p>Process for the working up and disposal of skins, salt slags and aluminium-containing wastes which have particle sizes of < 10 cm after a comminution process, wherein the skins, salt slags and aluminium- containing wastes are treated with water in a rotatable dissolving drum (2) for dissolving and separating off the metallic aluminium, and the insoluble residues together with the salt solution are then conveyed to a separating container (3) having a filter (4), while the metallic aluminium, which has been separated off remains behind in the dissolving drum (2), is dried and then recycled to the smelting furnace (10), the filtered salt solution is transferred to a preevaporator (5) having a downstream thickener (6), in which crystallisation takes place, the salts are separated off via a centrifuge (7) and, after drying, are used in an aluminium smelting furnace (8) and the residue on the filter (4) of the separating container (3) is washed chloride-free (< 5% of Cl) and is dumped or worked up to obtain a higher alumina content for reuse in the electrolysis cell. <IMAGE></p> |
