PURPOSE:To provide a polyamide resin which can give a multilayer film excellent in gas and water vapor barrier properties, transparency, etc., by polycondensing mxylylenediamine with adipic acid by melting and further subjecting the obtained product to solid phase polycondensation. CONSTITUTION:m-xylylenediamine is polycondensed with adipic acid by melting to produce a polyamide of a relative viscosity (a value determined by dissolving 1g of the resin in 100ml of 96% sulfuric acid solution and measuring the viscosity at 25 deg.C) <=2.35. This polyamide is further subjected to solid phase polycondensation to produce a polyamide resin for film or sheet which has a semicrystallization time of 80-150sec as determined by the depolarization intensity method when it is melted at 160 deg.C and crystallized at a constant temperature of 160 deg.C. This polyamide resin, a polyolefin resin (e.g. polypropylene) and a modified polyolefin resin as an adhesive for bonding both resins are separately extruded through an extruder, and the extrudates are bonded together in a molten state, stretched and heat-set to obtain easily a multilayer film, sheet or the like. |
