METHOD OF TRANSMITTING PLURAL DATA CHANNELS THROUGH SIMPLE COMMUNICATION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To enable first equipment to simultaneously communicate with a plurality of host equipment by maintaining a table indicating the correlation between a plurality of channel numbers and the preset addresses of the host equipment. CONSTITUTION: A first virtual channel number(VCN) is established for the communication between data terminal equipment(DTE) 10 and data communication equipment(DCE) 12 by making the DCE 12 to perform access to a preset node 16. In addition, a first logical channel number(LCN) is established for the communication between the DCE 12 and first host equipment 20a of a plurality of host equipment. Then a second VCN is established for the communication between the DTE 10 and DCE 12 and a second LCN is established for the communication between the DCE 12 and the plurality of host equipment. Then a table indicating the correlation between each VCN and the corresponding LCN is maintained. The VCN and LCN are simultaneously changed when the DTE 10 performs access to another host equipment having a different LCN. Therefore, the DTE 10 can perform access to the plurality of host equipment.
