PURPOSE:To package more fibers in one stripe of submarine cable without changing the size of the cabinet of a repeater by providing an optical submarine relay device in which an optical fiber packaged in one stripe of optical submarine cable is branched, and the optical fiber on one side is connected to the repeater, and another optical fiber is connected to the optical submarine cable again by bypassing the repeater in multiple stages. CONSTITUTION:The optical submarine relay devices 31 and 32 equipped with the repeater 26 to perform the reproducing relay of an optical signal which propagates the optical fiber, cables 34 and 36 for bypassing to bypass the repeater 26, and a connection means to connect cables 33 and 37 for reproduction connected to the repeater 26 and the cables 34 and 36 for bypassing to the optical submarine cable 21 are provided. And plural optical fibers are provided so that all the optical fibers packaged in one stripe of optical submarine cable 21 can be connected to the repeater 26 keeping constant distance. Thereby, it is possible to package systems more than the maximum number of transmission systems of the repeater 26 in the optical submarine cable. |
