The automatic switching device for an electrical load,eg. a night storage heater, has 2 alternate input terminals (10,11) supplied in a mains network control device and a single output terminal (26) coupled to the protection switch (40) for the load. One input terminal (10) can be coupled to the output terminal (26) via a manual push-button (19) and a remonance' relay contact (21), the other terminal (11) being permanently coupled to the output terminal (26) and to a release circuit for the remanance relay working contact (21). ADVANTAGE - Allows manual override when load is normally in OFF mode.
