RUBBER-MODIFIED STYRENE RESIN COMPOSITION

摘要

PURPOSE:To prepare a rubber-modified styrene resin compsn. excellent in the sliding properties, rigidity, impact strength, and moldability by compounding a specific styrene resin modified with a rubber with a polyorganosiloxane in such a manner that the particle diameter of the dispersed polyorganosiloxane is in a specified range. CONSTITUTION:85-96wt.% arom. vinyl monomer (e.g. styrene) or mixture of said vinyl monomer with another vinyl monomer copolymerizable with the vinyl monomer (e.g. maleic anhydride) is copolymerized in the presence of 15-4wt.% rubberlike polymer (e.g. polybutadiene rubber) dissolved in the vinyl monomer or monomer mixture to give a rubber-modified styrene resin having a swelling index in toluene of 8.5-12 and contg. a rubberlike component dispersed therein with a mean particle diameter of 0.1-1.5mum. 100 pts.wt. resulting modified resin is compounded with 0.5-5.0 pts.wt. polyorganosiloxane (e.g. polydimethylsiloxane) in such a manner that the particle diameter of the dispersed polyorganosiloxane is in the range of 0.2-0.7mum.
