Improvements to installations for the covering of swimming pools, of the type comprising, at one end of the pool 1, a well in which there extends a horizontal shaft connected via a kinematic linkage system to drive means, and on which shaft a covering 10 can be rolled up or unrolled, the covering 10 being intended to extend over the surface of the water of the pool 1 and passing through a slot provided between the well and the pool 1, the said covering being made up of leakproof hollow plates articulated against one another, characterised in that some of the plates forming the covering comprise, on their lower face, at each of their ends, a support 20 on which a shaft extending perpendicularly to the said lower face is mounted, and on which a roller 23 turns loosely, the supports 20 being provided at a distance such that the rollers 23 cooperate with the two corresponding opposite sides of the pool 1. <IMAGE>
