PURPOSE:To make larger the construction and produce in a great amount by mixing together fine powder of molten salt, high-purity superfine powder of mono-crystal magnesia, and bubble removing agent in a dry process, setting it between porous electrode plates, and forming an electrolytic substance in the initial period of temp. rise until the operation temp. is attained. CONSTITUTION:Fine powder of molten salt, high-purity superfine powder of mono-crystal magnesia, and bubble removing agent are mixed together in a dry process, wherein the magnesia content shall range 20 thru 180 parts by weight to 100 parts by weight molten salt, while the bubble removing agent content be 0.1 thru 5 parts by weight to the same. The paste-formed electrolytic substance prepared in this proportion is set between two porous electrode plates, and they are built in a battery jar, and unitary cell members are laminated to complete a large-capacity molten salt fuel battery. Then the temp. is raised to the battery service temp. 650 deg.C at a raising rate of 10-100 deg.C/hr, and this condition is held for 1-5hr. This melts the molten salt and bubble removing agent in the electrolytic substance and turns out bubbles in the substance to outside the system, and thereby a dense electrolytic substance layer is obtained. |
