388,844. Batteries. FROST, A. E., 38, Arlow Road, Winchmore Hill, and LOVELL, H. H., 20, Scholefield Road, Highgate, both in London. Oct. 6, 1931, No. 27773. [Class 53.] A battery container is provided with a pivoted handle 2 the ends of which are enclosed in housings 4 within the container, the housings being liquidtight to prevent liquid from coming into contact with the ends of the handle and from escaping from the holes in the container in which the handle is pivoted. The housings may be formed separately from the container and cemented or otherwise attached thereto, as shown in Fig. 2, or they may be formed integrally with the container, as shown in Fig. 4, or with a screwed closure 4a, as in Fig. 3. In Fig. 4 the handle 2 is pivoted in a plug 6 secured in the housing 4. Fig. 7 shows a further modification in which the housing is in the form of a tube 4 which surrounds a rod 5 on which the handle 2 is pivoted. The tube 4 is cemented to the inner surfaces of the walls of the container. |
