PURPOSE:To make a subscriber on land to check the existence of a terminating marine earth station and to repeat transmission unnecessary by accumulating telegram messages from subscribers on land in a coastal earth station, periodically calling the terminating marine earth station, and automatically sending the accumulated telegram messages. CONSTITUTION:The coastal earth station 1 accumulates telegram messages sent from a subscriber 3 on land and a terminating marine earth station number respectively in a telegram message accumulating memory 5 and a marine earth station number accumulating memory 6. When there is no message to be sent, the earth station 1 loads the accumulated marine earth station number in an idle message to be sent and periodically sending the idle message. At the time of detecting the its own marine earth station number in the idle message, the terminating marine earth station 2 automatically responds to the earth station 1. The earth station 1 sends the accumulated telegram message corresponding to the responding marine earth station 2. Consequently, it is unnecessary for the subscriber on land to repeat transmission which may be executed until entering into the communication covering sea area of the coastal earth station requesting communication. |
