PURPOSE:To facilitate the program correcting jobs of a user by starting automatically an editor after the translation it through and displaying the line containing an error in a file for a source program having an error to the user if an error is detected at translation of the source program. CONSTITUTION:If an error is detected while a translation means 1 is translating a source program 2, the error information on the names, the error line numbers, the error numbers, the error messages are stored in an error information file 4 for each file of the program 2 where the error is detected. If an error is detected while an editor control means 5 is translating the program 2 via the means 1, an error information display area is secured in an error information display area 6 after the translation is through. Then the error information is inputted from the file 4 and the line where an error is detected is clearly displayed to a user. Thus it is possible to back up the user to easily correct the program 2.
