The invention relates to an apparatus for calcining pulverulent materials, in particular cement raw materials prior to their further heat treatment, e.g. in a rotary kiln (furnace), in which a better burnout, a more uniform calcination and a higher heat effect are achievable, since after complete mixing and after the reaction between all components in a calcination chamber (4), the mostly calcined raw material together with any unburnt fuel residue is transferred into a specially configured calcination channel (3). Here the calcination process is completed to the required degree and the burnout of the fuel residue occurs, to which the air contained in the gases coming from the rotary kiln (1) contributes. <IMAGE> |
