3-amino-propyl-chloride derivs. (1) - where R1 and R2 independently 3-4C alkyl gps. and corresponding organic or inorganic acid adduct salts are prped. from an amine (11) -R1 and R2 as before- and 3-bromo- or 3-chloro-propanol. - Cpd (III) is obtd. and is chlorinated with an inorganic chlorinating agent, pref. thionyl-chloride, sulphuryl-chloride, phosphorus-trichloride or phosphorus-oxy-chloride. Resulting cpd. (I) is isolated as the free base or as the acid adduct salt. Free bases may be subsequently converted to salts
