Stator of an electric motor including a laminated core 2 consisting of superposed sheets 3 and which, near its peripheral edge 2A, has holes 9 intended to receive bolts 9 for clamping the sheets 3, characterised in that the laminated core 2 is stamped to form a recess 10 near each hole, the depth of the said recess decreasing continuously towards the peripheral edge 2A.
