A hinged plastic closure for bottles is made of a base part (12) which fits with the internal beads (15) below external beads on the neck of the bottle. Film hinges (31) on a strip (3) join it to a lid (21) which, before sale, has its pins (24) locked in the holes (16) and can be turned up to give access to the spout (13), after the first user has torn the film hinges off. The strip (3) now acts as an opener for the aluminium foil on the bottle neck (not shown) by a sharp point (33) as well as a security against tampering. ADVANTAGE - This is a low-cost cap with a dual function.
