The invention relates to surgical gripping forceps having several forceps legs which are resilient to the outside and which can be extended under an axial spring load from the end of a guide pipe near the patient by actuating an actuation device on the end remote from the patient, and which are centrally contracted by a tension rod. In order to design such gripping forceps in such a way that they are simultaneously suitable for wound gluing, the invention proposes that a channel (2) for insertion of an adhesive substance be arranged in the guide pipe (1) of the gripping forceps. As a result of this, the adhesive substance can be applied through the gripping forceps immediately after closure of the wound by the gripping forceps themselves. <IMAGE>
