In a ball mounting, especially for fitting in armoured glass panes (1), with a ball-type housing (2), a ball (3) rotatably fitted in the spherical hollow (6) of the housing (2) and an attachment secured to the ball (3) for a hand firearm, in which the ball (3) and the attachment have an aligned bore through which the shots (31) fired from the weapon may pass, the stress on the pane (1) is reduced in that the attachment is flexibly spring-mounted so as to be longitudinally movable. The ball mounting may therefore also be used in a pane (1) which has been shot-damaged on the outside, without being torn from its securing system.
