A device for non-destructive testing of workpieces (11) by means of a magnetic field comprises a device for producing a magnetic field (Hy) aligned in a first direction (y) in the workpiece (11). It also comprises a magnetic field sensor (31) arranged on one surface of the workpiece (11), which detects a magnetic measurement field (Hz) aligned in a second direction (z) and produced by defects in the workpiece (11). Finally, the device includes electronic switching means (30) with connecting lines (50, 52, 53, 55, 56, 58, 59, 61, 62, 64, 65, 70, 72, 73, 75, 76, 78, 81) which amplify the measurement signals corresponding to the magnetic measurement field (Hz). The electronic switching means (30), together with the magnetic field sensor (31), form a hybrid component (46). The connecting lines (50, 52, 53, 55, 56, 58, 59, 61, 62, 64, 65, 70, 72, 73, 75, 76, 78, 81) are arranged so that surface vectors of the surfaces (A) clamped by electrically coupled connecting lines (52, 53, 55) are aligned substantially perpendicular to the first direction (y).
