Hydrostatic supporting bearing

A hydrostatic supporting bearing is described, consisting of a supporting body and a counter-body, with a recess in the supporting body which is filled with a flow medium and into which there is inserted an annular body which is guided by guiding surfaces with respect to the supporting body and is pushed by the pressurised flow medium towards the counter-body and whose annular sliding surface forms a freely adjusting bearing gap together with the counter-body sliding surface. In order to save on the supply of pressurised flow medium in this supporting bearing and hence the pressure-generating pump, provision is made for a seal, which prevents the escape of flow medium through the guiding surfaces, and a collar as part of the annular body, which projects radially outwards beyond the recess without support on the supporting body and forms at least a part of the annular sliding surface.
