METHOD FOR CONTROLLING CULTURE ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITION FOR ANIMAL CELL, CONTROLLER, METHOD FOR CULTURING AND CULTURE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To enable obtaining of a method and apparatus for stably culturing animal cells for a long period by calculating the ratio of the amount of formed lactic acid to the amount of consumed glucose in culturing the animal cells and controlling culture environmental conditions. CONSTITUTION:The concentrations of glucose and lactic acid in a culture solution of animal cells are measured to provide measured values, which are then used to afford the ratio (L/G) of the amount of the formed glucose to the amount of the consumed glucose. If the ratio (L/G) deviates from a prescribed range of 0-0.6 (not including 0), the dissolved oxygen concentration or glucose concentration or both are controlled by increasing the dissolved oxygen concentration and/or decreasing the glucose concentration in the culture solution. A culture device having a controller for the above-mentioned culture environmental conditions is used to carry out culture of animal cells by the aforementioned controlling method. Thereby, the culture environmental conditions of the animal cells can be stably controlled for a long period. As result, the animal cells can be stably cultured for the long period.
