<p>A safety device (1) for pressure cookers (2), effective to enhance the safe operation of the cooker (2), comprises a plug (8) made of an elastically deformable material in the axial direction which is held to a hole (6) through the cooker (2) lid (3) before a predetermined pressure is reached within the cooker, a mushroom-shaped lug (12) protruding axially from the plug (8) to provide an axial stop for the plug upon said predetermined pressure being exceeded, and passageways (16) in said mushroom-shaped lug (12) which open to the cooker (2) interior and the hole (6) and have a predetermined cross section to form a throttle (20).</p> |
