The invention relates to a linear-advancing mechanism with a guiding element and a movable element which is mounted or guided displaceably by linear (moving) bearing mechanisms, is placed onto the guiding element and encompasses the latter, the particular feature of which linear-advancing mechanism consists in that, in the mutually facing portions of guiding element and movable element, there are formed in each case a recess or grooves having a semicircular cross-section, or half-threads, which together define a bore having a circular cross-section and extending in the displacement direction, a screw spindle in the form of a (recirculating) ball screw is inserted into the circular bore, the half-threads formed in the movable element have a groove surface corresponding to the threads of the screw spindle, the semicircular recess in the guiding element has a smooth surface and the movable element is provided with a ball-circulating passage establishing a connection between the two ends of the groove surface.
