ACRYLIC NON-WOVEN FABRIC AND PRODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To provide the subject product having a high commercial value without dimensional change in the heat treatment at high temperature because of its excellent heat resistance by integrally combining a non-woven fabric comprising acrylic synthetic fibers having a novel structure with a heat-resistant fiber basic fabric applying the spraying of highly pressured water. CONSTITUTION:Acrylic fibers having many irregular shape openings on the cross-sectional surface and the each opening having muscle-like space with length of >=60mum approximately parallel to the longitudinal direction of the fibers are employed to provide a non-woven fabric. The non-woven fabric is superposed on a basic fabric comprising heat resistant fibers and subsequently highly pressured water is jetted from a nozzle on the upper side of the non- woven fabric to provide the objective product comprising the non-woven fabric layer and the heat resistant fiber basic fabric layer with a mutually integrated state comprising ultrafine acrylic fibers having the longest cross-sectional diameters of 0.5-3mum wherein most of the ultrafine acrylic fibers are interlaced with each other so as to disperse at some portion of the fabric, to gather in a bundle state at other portions and further to integrally combine at other portions.
