<p>NEW MATERIAL:Cyclopentene derivatives of formulas I-V (R is H or lower alkyl; X, Y and Z<2> are OH which may be protected; Z<1> is OH or halogen). EXAMPLE:Bicyclo[7.3.0]-9-methoxymethoxy-4-vinyldodeca-1-(12)-en-2,6-di yn-5-ol. USE:An antibiotic or an intermediate thereof. PREPARATION:A 2-bromo-1-(4-hydroxy-2-butynyl)-2-cyclopenten-1-ol is subjected to steps comprising a coupling reaction with a compound of formula VI (Z<11> is halogen), halogenation, protecting group-removal, intramolecular etherification, protection and rearrangement, if desired, further protection or further protecting group-removal to provide the compound of formula I through the compounds of formula III and II. The compounds of formulas IV-V are prepared by dehy drating the compound of formula I (one of X and Y is OH and the other is protected OH) and, if necessary, removing the protecting group from the product.</p> |
