In the case of known mechanical gearshift arrangements which are used to bridge relatively large distances between the driving control position and the change-speed gearbox - lorries with tiltable cabs - gearshift devices are known, for example, which, to achieve the necessary gearshift movement, have considerably cranked transmission linkages to obtain a rotational and axial movement of the selector rod. For the necessary rigidity of the transmission linkage, they must be of large dimensions owing to the cranking. To reduce the space requirement of the transmission linkages, provision is made for the movement direction of the gearshift lever 3, 4 into the pivoting region and from two respective angle levers 13, 14 and 21, 22 arranged at right angles on the gearshift lever 3, 4 to be transmitted via separate respective transmission linkages 11, 12 and 15, 16 to respective toggle levers 31, 32 and levers 23, 24, to turn the selector rod 39, 40 about the longitudinal axis 25, 26 or to displace the selector rod 39, 40 in the longitudinal direction. The mechanical gearshift arrangement enables exact transmission of the actuating movements triggered by the gearshift levers 3, 4 to the selector rod 39, 40, with the components at the same time requiring little space. <IMAGE>
