In the area of storage systems, horizontal carousel racks are known, in the case of which, the framework of the carousel rack running around on rails, storage-goods containers filled with storage goods can be conveyed to a region for the removal of storage goods from the storage-goods containers. A plurality of such carousel racks may be provided in a warehouse. The disadvantage with this is that these storage goods which are to be dispatched are removed by the commissioning staff, for one dispatch order in each case, from a storage-goods container in the removal region and are in each case discharged into one container. The invention thus proposes a commissioning station, in a storage system, which is assigned at least one horizontal carousel rack and exhibits a commissioning table on which a plurality of containers, intended for transporting storage goods away, can be placed one beside the other, storage-goods containers of the carousel rack and the containers placed on the commissioning table being located within reach of an operating-staff member who is in essentially one location. The commissioning station is suitable, in particular for storage systems in industry, trade and commerce. <IMAGE>
