The invention relates to a plant according to Patent P 3733078.0 (GR 87 P 6097 DE) for thermal waste disposal having an indirectly heated pyrolysis reactor (1), a discharge apparatus (13a) for the pyrolysis residue, a low-temperature carbonisation gas take-off apparatus (13, 14, 15) connected to a high-temperature combustion chamber (16), a flue gas duct (19) connected to the high-temperature combustion chamber (16), a heat exchanger arrangement and a flue gas purification plant. The pressure in the pyrolysis reactor (1) can be kept by the low-temperature carbonisation gas take-off apparatus (13, 14, 15) to a value which is below atmospheric pressure. The pressure of heating gases conducted separately from the low-temperature carbonisation gases in separate heating tubes (3, 4, 5, 6) is above the pressure of the low-temperature carbonisation gases. It is provided that the flue gas duct (19) is connected via an injection chamber (70) for, e.g., sodium hydroxide solution or milk of lime to a heating gas line (35) which is connected to the separate heating tubes (3, 4, 5, 6). <IMAGE>
