A sound-insulating means (1), which comprises a foam layer (1') and a solid layer (1''), is arranged between an instrument panel (2) and a firewall upper part (3) of a passenger car. The sound-insulating means (1) has, at its front end region, a convex curvature (9) which bears in a resilient and hence sound-proof manner against a rubber-elastic seal (7) on the instrument panel (2). <IMAGE>
