An effective pressure measuring device (1), preferably for determining the mass flow (M) flowing from a turbo compressor or a similar flow machine, the device having a tube (2) expanding conically over its full length and having an inlet end (3) and an outlet end (4). Arranged at the inlet end (3) there is a measuring flange (15) for measuring the static pressure and a total pressure measuring probe (6) and a temperature measuring probe (7) in the direct vicinity of the outlet end (4). By this means, both pressure and temperature can be measured without loss of flow or pressure and relatively large pressure difference can be measured simultaneously, which was previously only possible with a permanent loss of pressure or energy caused by the measuring equipment. By means of a measured value converter (20) connected to the pressure and temperature measuring devices and an electronic computing unit (24) connected thereto, the mass flow (M) can be computed at any desired period of time and can be indicated by means of an indicating instrument (25). <IMAGE>
