<p>PURPOSE:To reduce the capacity of a buffer memory and to reduce the equipment cost by using an output side selection means to select other buffer memory, inputting a picture data of the buffer memory to a compression means and compressing the signal. CONSTITUTION:When one of buffer memories 1a, 1b is selected by a selection means 2a and a picture element data in a 1st field of a picture signal Vp is being written in the memories la, 1b sequentially through raster scanning. In this case, the contact of the selection means 2b connects to the other buffer memories 1b, 1a and a compression means 3 applies compression processing in the unit of blocks. When an N-line picture data is written in the memories 1a, 1b, the contact of the means 2b is thrown to the position of the memories 1a, 1b and the means 3 starts compression processing. Simultaneously, the contact of the means 2a is thrown to the position of the memories 1b, 1a and the picture data of the signal Vp is written in the memories 1b, 1a.</p> |
