PURPOSE: To turn over and displace a package through 180 deg. out of a first position or attitude on a supply conveyor into a second position or attitude by mounting at least one gripper element in such a manner that it is movable in a linear reciprocating member and fixed to a follower cam guided in a control cam. CONSTITUTION: A propulsion unit comprises a linear reciprocating member driven between a first position (I) and a second position (II) of a package 9, and a stationary slotted guide 20 provided with a control cam 22. At least one gripper element 26 is mounted in such a manner that it is movable in a linear reciprocating member and fixed to a follower roller 24 guided in a control cam 22. Whereby the package having a cylindrical side wall (product package filled with liquid) can be turned over and displaced through 180 deg. out of the first attitude on a supply conveyor into a second attitude on a removal conveyor.
