Rubber/plastic mixture, process for the preparation thereof, and the use thereof

The invention relates to a vulcanisable, disperse mixture of at least one plastic powder and rubber in the form of a homogeneous composition, optionally containing further additives which are conventional in plastics or rubber processing. The plastic powder comprises, in particular, a mixture of plastic powders of various particle size and/or various melting point. The invention relates, on the one hand, to rubber/plastic mixtures in which the rubber proportion predominates and which are preferably vulcanised by means of peroxides. Instead of peroxide crosslinking agents, other crosslinking systems, such as, for example, sulphur crosslinking agents, can also be used. It is preferred if some of the plastic powder melts in the region of the vulcanisation temperature. The invention also relates to plastic/rubber mixtures in which the plastic proportion predominates and which can be vulcanised with or without addition of peroxide. The invention furthermore relates to a process for the preparation of a mixture of rubber and plastic in which plastic powder is mixed with rubber at temperatures below 80@C, and other additives which are convention for plastics or rubber processing are optionally added. The mixture according to the invention can advantageously be used for the production of vulcanised mouldings, in particular for the production of gaskets (seals).
