A cable control system for releasing a spring loaded device such as a latch (20) or brake by a cable wherein one end of the strand (23) of the cable is connected to the latch (20), and the other end thereof is attached to a member (28) that is yieldingly urged in a direction to maintain tension on the strand (23). An operating lever (30) is pivoted adjacent the member (28) and an arm (35) is pivoted to said lever (30) such that movement of the lever (30) in one direction will cause the arm (35) to engage the member (28) and apply tension to the strand (23) to release the latch (20). |
