A soft tissu prosthesis comprising a tubular braid (6) having regions of stiffness and elasticity provided by stiff and elastomeric components (12) disposed within a channel enclosed by the tube and/or within the braid (6), and means defining a transition region (7) for minimizing relative motion among the braid components, the stiff components and the elastomeric components.
