<p>The method involves measuring the radiation pattern of the directional rotating interrogating antenna of a secondary monitoring radar (10) and comparing the result of the measurement with set reference values. The measurement is made with a high frequency signal generator consisting of a test transponder (30) placed near the secondary monitoring radar (10) and interrogated in most directions of orientation of the interrogation antenna by means of a special configuration of pulses emitted by the quasi-omnidirectional control antenna. The special configuration of pulses may consist of a pair of successive pulses (Po, P2), the second pulse (P2) of the pair being a pulse for the elimination of responses to interrogations by the side lobes. <IMAGE></p> |
