PURPOSE:To reduce groove wandering in particular by forming multiple notches formed in a large number of blocks on the tread of a tire in such a manner that their length and depth increase gradually towards the center side of the tire respectively. CONSTITUTION:The tread surface of a tire is provided with three parallel main grooves 1 in a circumferential direction of the tire and a large number of sub- grooves 2 which cross the main grooves 1 so as to form a large number of blocks 3. In each of the blocks 3 are formed multiple notches 4 which run parallel to each other in a circumferential direction of the tire, either continuously or interruptedly, in such a manner that the length and depth of each of the notches 4 increases gradually as they are further away from the tire shoulder side S towards the tire center side C. In other words, the rigidity of each block 3 is made lower at the tire center side C than at the tire shoulder side S. This ensures reduced groove wandering in particular.
