A process for preparing immobilised antibodies by a condensation reaction between the antibodies in oxidised form and polymeric carrier material modified with adipic acid dihydrazide, in which, in a one-pot reaction, the antibodies are oxidised and condensed with the carrier material in an aqueous medium which also contains periodate.
