Device for promoting the separation and/or the contact of two immiscible liquids, the said device comprising at least one conduit (26) for feeding the two liquids as an emulsion to a set of tubes (59) in each of which there is arranged, in the direction of its length, over at least a part of the latter, a bundle of fibres (60) exhibiting a preferential wettability by one of the two liquids, said set being connected to a gravity separator (29) in which the two liquids separate, the separator being equipped with conduits for removing each of the two liquids.
According to the invention the tubes are bounded by two walls (51, 56) separated by a substantially uniform distance, and by a corrugated member (58) inserted between these walls and alternately in contact with each of them by means of its corrugations.
